"The Belt and Road Initiative" Meets with the Establishment of a Special Research Project on Henan Zhongyuan Aquatic Product Logistics Port

Recently, Henan Zhongyuan Four Seasons Aquatic Product Logistics Port Co., Ltd. partnered with “ The Belt and Road "The Cultural Communication and Economic Development Research Group has officially signed a dedicated project agreement. Under the agreement, both parties have agreed to establish a strategic partnership, collaborating on joint research, academic discussions, and expert consultations centered around the "Belt and Road" initiative and the Henan Zhongyuan Aquatic Products Logistics Port project."
It is understood that the special task force on the "Belt and Road" initiative and Henan Zhongyuan Aquatic Product Logistics Port, established under the agreement, will be responsible for conducting research, carrying out field investigations, drafting, and reviewing the project report, ultimately producing a comprehensive study with significant findings. The "Henan Zhongyuan Aquatic Product Logistics Port" project has been included in the dynamic project database of the "Belt and Road" Initiative. This dynamic database features a selection of engineering and project initiatives across China that demonstrate substantial influence and driving power in advancing the "Belt and Road" infrastructure development.
Xu Yunfeng, Secretary-General of the Cultural Communication and Economic Development Research Group under the Belt and Road Initiative and Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for China’s Economic Reform and Development at Renmin University of China, stated that Henan Province is now embracing a historic opportunity for development under the Belt and Road strategic framework. As part of its active participation in the Belt and Road construction, Henan has clearly defined its strategic positioning: to become a vital integrated transportation hub and a leading trade and logistics center along the Belt and Road, a strategic platform for regional collaboration along the New Eurasian Land Bridge Economic Corridor, and a premier gateway for inland regions to open up to the world. Among these key initiatives, the "Henan Zhongyuan Aquatic Product Logistics Port" project stands out as a flagship undertaking, playing a critical role in realizing the goal of building a robust logistics network that connects domestic and international markets while extending its reach across eastern, central, and western China. This initiative will undoubtedly make a unique and significant contribution to the broader vision of the Belt and Road Initiative.
It is reported that this collaboration aims to deeply implement the Party and the state's directives on advancing the Belt and Road Initiative, while also upholding and promoting the spirit of the Silk Road—characterized by "peaceful cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning, and win-win partnerships"—to foster international trade and cultural exchanges and strengthen the nation's cultural soft power.
The "Belt and Road" Cultural Communication and Economic Development Research Group is a specialized task force on the Belt and Road Initiative jointly established by institutions including the Five Continents Communication Center, the International Cooperation Center of the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Institute for China’s Economic Reform and Development at Renmin University of China. The research covers areas such as the preservation of both tangible and intangible cultural heritage, tourism development, ecological conservation, science and technology incubation and application, brand promotion, the Information Silk Road initiative, big-data-driven information sharing, and collaborative construction of industrial parks.
Henan Zhongyuan Four Seasons Aquatic Product Logistics Port Co., Ltd.'s "Zhongyuan Aquatic Product Logistics Port" was designated as a key provincial project in Henan Province for both 2012 and 2013, and it also served as a major provincial and municipal "vegetable basket" project. The logistics port spans a total area of 412 acres, with a total investment of 1.8 billion RMB. Its comprehensive operations integrate aquatic products, livestock and poultry products, warehousing, preservation, processing and trading, logistics, product quality testing, information platform services, and seamless settlement into one cohesive, multi-functional logistics hub.
